Equating The Mandylion - with the shroud
The image on the Mandylion - the "Image of Edessa" formed the basis
for all images of Jesus after the 4th century. Dr Whanger demonstrates
the image on the painting known as the "Pantokrator" has approximately
250 areas of congruence with the shroud image. Only 45-60 areas of
congruence are needed in a court of law to prove identity.
