February 12th – Darwin’s Birthday has been designated “Question Evolution Day” – a day to take a serious, critical look at Darwin’s theory and its many shortcomings in light of modern scientific knowledge. Supporters of the modern expression of Darwinism known as Neo-Darwinism are either silent to modern day challenges to evolution or have come up with unconvincing answers. Chief among those challenges:

DNA – an information storage and retrieval system that contains coded information. Where did the information come from and who encoded it?

Soft Tissues in Dinosaur bones – Bones alleged to be tens of millions of years old contain soft tissue. Tissues that should not survive tens of millions of years. How is that possible? Are the bones really that old? Is the earth really that old?

Information – How can materialistic processes influence or affect non-material biological components? such as the brain’s ability to see depth perception, reason correctly (use logic), the ability to use language.

Consciousness – How does a non-conscious material object – like a rock, become a conscious living being?

Question Evolution Day is a grass roots movement promoted by sites such as Creation Ministries International and The Question Evolution Project in addition to this site. Additionally, while they don’t support Question Evolution Day directly, the intelligent design think tank The Discovery Institute’s site A Scientific Dissent from Darwin hosts a list of numerous scientists who are skeptical of the claims of neo-Darwinism, with testimonies of the reasons why.

Question Evolution Day 2024 – The Axolotl

I’m just getting back from vacation so this year’s Question Evolution Day snuck up on me, but not to worry, I still have an item for consideration for today. Since I’m writing late in the day I’ll keep it short and stick to the theme of the day, namely questions for evolutionists concerning wonders of God’s creation which no version of evolution – whether classic or neo-Darwinism – can explain.

Well, not to the satisfaction of anyone who isn’t wearing Darwin blinders and hasn’t drunk the mind-killing Kool-Aid. You know, the Kool-Aid that allows you to believe foolishness like things which cannot create themselves – such as life and information – somehow managing to create themselves; things like order arising from chaos without an intelligence to order it; like non-material things such as language and consciousness creating themselves from non-living, inert matter, and so on.

So I will merely ask the questions, and leave it up to the Darwinists to provide their best answers. Of course there is no answer to these questions within an evolutionary worldview but the attempt to create one is always entertaining. Most explanations are so obviously foolish and untrue that they are not worthy of a response but on occasion some are misleading enough to warrant a response. We’ll see if we get any on this outing. Okay, enough with the introduction. Let’s get to the topic of the this year’s Question Evolution Day.

Here we are at another February 12th, Question Evolution Day, where instead of presenting evidence for creation, we offer creation skeptics an opportunity to check their intellectual freedom and integrity. This is an opportunity to see if they are slaves to the evolutionary dogma or if they have the intellectual freedom and integrity to seriously consider the many challenges to Darwinian Evolution. Question Evolution Day 2022

Christians are called to make “the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.” (Ep 5.16) February 12, Darwin’s Birthday, has become a great opportunity to do that. Like Halloween has become an opportunity to give people gospel tracks when they come to your door asking you for stuff, the day some are celebrating Darwin and evolution is the perfect opportunity to offer them the red pill by suggesting they question evolution on Question Evolution Day. If they’ve never heard about it, point them to Cowboy Bob’s page here to show them it’s a real thing, then go on to present them questions and evidence that will help them to see just how wrong and meritless Darwin’s theory of evolution is. Here at Rational Faith, we’ve been doing that for the past few years since hearing of it.

So for this year’s Question Evolution Day informational giveaway we’ll take a brief look at one of the problems Darwinian evolution has with what’s known as the Cambrian explosion. There are a number, but to keep it somewhat brief, we’ll focus on just one of the numerous issues.

So here we are at another February 12th, Question Evolution day. Since it’s already late in the day I’ll try to keep this short. But to put things in context, I need to preface my questions for Darwinian evolution believers with a question. Consider the following:

Concerning Purpose

A student is given an assignment to write a 1,000 word essay. The student completes the assignment and turns in the essay. The essay sounds familiar to the teacher so the teacher checks a plagiarism checker and as suspected, the student has plagiarized another work. The teacher confronts the student and says, “Your paper, is almost precisely word for the word the same as this published work. You’re guilty of plagiarism and will get no credit for your paper.”

Well here we are at another February 12th – formerly celebrated as Lincoln’s birthday, now many are trying to get people to think of Darwin’s birthday. While some are celebrating “International Darwin Day”, others are sharing “Question Darwin Day”, an initiative inspired by CMI with ongoing promotions by The Question Evolution Project. Rational Faith is obviously part of the latter group. So for this year’s Question Evolution Day, our questions will be concerning the frozen frog you see in the picture above. You may think this is just an ordinary frozen frog, but I’m going to warn you up front about this – this is no ordinary frog. As Ray Comfort might say, this is an evolutionist’s nightmare. This is the Alaskan wood frog. And it is able to survive the harsh sometimes 40 degrees below zero winters. How? it digs a burrow and allows itself to freeze. Solid. Like a block of ice – like you see above. Then when spring arrives, and things begin to thaw – it does too. And wakes up. And hops away – like nothing even happened. Continue Reading

Refining the questions to evolutionists for Question Evolution Day

Evolutionists claim that evolution is not a religion. That becomes increasingly difficult to believe as they act more and more like devout followers of a faith based religion. In addition to having doctrine, discipline for those who disagree with the faith, preachers and teachers, they now also have a holy day. Perhaps you’ve heard of it: Darwin Day, a celebration held on the anniversary of Darwin’s birthday, February 12. If the practice of evolution wasn’t looking like a religion before, it certainly is now. I wouldn’t even be surprised if they begin to exchange gifts on Darwin’s day.

For the Darwin’s day just past, astronomer Phil Plait who appears on science programs such as How the Universe Works, tweeted a link to an article he wrote in response to questions from Creationists pointing out problems with evolutionary theory. (The questions are appropriate for Question Evolution Day, which is held on the same day as Darwin Day, but were in fact asked at the Bill Nye/Ken Ham debate.) In his article “Answers for Creationists” Phil addresses the questions from the secular consensus view – that is to say from the “evolution is true/fact” perspective.

He sets it up like this:

On BuzzFeed, there is a clever listicle that is a collection of 22 photos showing creationists holding up questions they have for people who “believe” in evolution. These questions are fairly typically asked when evolution is questioned by creationists. Some are philosophical, and fun to think about, while others show a profound misunderstanding of how science works, and specifically what evolution is.

He goes about answering the 22 questions from creationists. Given his answers (when he has them – for some he doesn’t and never will), I’d like to look at how we as creationists can better formulate the questions to minimize wiggle room. The problem is many of the questions are imprecise, or mix theories, thus giving him (and all evolutionists) plenty of wiggle room through which they drive a truckload of nonsense. The result being, evolutionists continue in the belief that creationists are wrong about origins and don’t understand science; while evolutionists are correct and properly understand science.

So while I’ll comment on Phil’s answers, it’s primary to lay the foundation for better questions. The goal being to refine them so what we creationists ask the evolutionists leaves as little wriggle room as possible (none at all preferably) to squirm out and thus avoid the serious problems with Darwinian theory. So what follows are the original questions, part or all of Phil’s answer, followed by my remarks, and if appropriate a refined or redirected question.
